On Monday, 15th September, the Ely Closed Churches Uses Committee and their Officers accepted our bid to try and restore the church for community use! Both Archdeacons and the Board of Finance of the Diocese Ely were consulted and the committee was able to give us approval on behalf of the Diocese as a first step. We will still need approval from the Church Commissioners and their Representatives, but we can now work towards that as the official preferred bidders!
It has been a long slog to get to this stage, but it means we have impetus to set up this website, incorporate as a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation), fundraise and generally raise awareness of this worthwhile project. We are also keen to attract volunteers to support us in our endeavour, so if this cause speaks to you, pease do get in touch.
